Why it is okay and necessary for men to cry!

Is it inappropriate for grown males to show emotion? It could come as a surprise to a lot of people to realize that guys can shed tears. Even though this is not a brand-new idea, it has gained more and more support over the course of the past few decades. This is in part due to the conversations that have taken place around toxic masculinity and fourth-wave feminism. Each year, depression affects 6 million men in the United States, and it is estimated that two-thirds of all suicides are carried out by men. In other words, men are more likely than women to take their own lives.

It doesn't matter what the cultural standards are in any given country; males cry more frequently than women do. In point of fact, modern men shed a tear 14 times more frequently than their dads did throughout the course of their lives. Although it was once regarded a desirable quality in men, today's men are three times more likely to cry in public than their dads were at the same age. In point of fact, the previous year saw four out of ten men cry in front of other people.

Crying in public is not seen to be unacceptable behavior, despite the fact that men have a tendency to hide their emotional vulnerabilities and are generally not seen as fragile or weak. We may not be used to seeing guys cry in public, but as a culture, we have become more sensitive to the expression of our emotions and have gotten much better at disguising them. Even though males don't typically cry in front of other people, it's not uncommon for them to do so in private—as long as they're doing so for the right reasons.

In spite of the fact that males are often less emotional than women, it is not unusual for men to cry more frequently than women do. In point of fact, males are less likely to cry than women are because they have lower amounts of the hormone prolactin, which is responsible for the production of tears in response to emotional stimulation. This is a socially acceptable manner for us to express feelings that, in other circumstances, we might repress. In addition to this, it makes males feel more at ease when it comes to expressing their emotions through crying.

There are several different triggers that can cause males to cry. There are occasions when it's just due to the fact that they're joyful. In many instances, they are commemorating a momentous milestone with a party. In other instances, they are only commemorating something that they hold dear to their hearts. It's okay for a man to cry tears of joy. A man who doesn't bottle up his feelings isn't going to be as happy as one who does. Should he be experiencing feelings of emotional strain, he should get assistance as soon as possible. Even if he is depressed, he should not cry.

Men in different cultures cry in different ways and for different reasons. In ages past, males were expected to be emotionally stalwart and unflappable; yet, in today's society, we are more tolerant of a man's ability to shed tears. On the other hand, when there is a situation that calls for tears, it is not at all inappropriate for men to shed a tear. In general, it's necessary to have a sensitive and caring attitude toward people's feelings because of the reasons listed above.
