Can we consider authenticity to be an important dimension of leadership

The boss has to be dependable and do what he says. On the other hand, he should always think about what he does.

A lot of leaders think that being honest is an important part of being a leader.

A leader is someone that workers try to show how they feel. When there isn't sincerity, it creates a pretty bad impression, something that sounds false. The speech sounds great, but it's not realised. We know that the deeds will not match the nice words.

A lot of companies' reasons for being are very clear about this. There's often a gap between the nice formulas and what workers actually have to deal with. Because of this, a leader should try to say what he really thinks as much as possible.

Having said that, being real doesn't mean saying everything you think. People even look up to leaders to keep quiet about things that might have the opposite effect of what they want to happen if they say them. This is the difference between being spontaneous and being real.

The way people use social networks puts too much value on spontaneity. Everyone is asked to respond (as soon as possible) to what other people write. Having a strong opinion and taking part in the discussion is often seen as a sign of authenticity.

That is, everyone says what they think in a clear way. In fact, everyone has emotional responses. And when people are feeling emotional, they often say more of what they think without thinking about what might happen.

That leader who gives in to his emotions shows that he is real because he shows who he really is. He does, however, take risks.

those of not measuring the effect of one's emotional response well enough. Even to make things happen that are the opposite of what he wants. So, by saying what makes him weak, he puts himself at risk of responsibility.

Being real does not mean being open and honest. It is important for a leader to show who he is and what drives him, but that doesn't mean he has to tell everything.

The boss has to be dependable and do what he says. But he should also always think about how what he says affects other people. Finally, remember what you learned in school: before you speak, turn your tongue around seven times.
