Do you frequently arrive late for appointments or work?

And you want to learn how to be more organised so that you can be more punctual and always on time?

You should read this article.

In this text, I'll give you three suggestions for becoming punctual so you can stop being late.

But before getting into the meat of the issue, allow me to emphasise that tardiness is a serious issue in our professional circles!

Around 15-20% of American workers, according to an ABC News article, are frequently late.

Whether it be showing up late to work

Make a coworker wait for a call for five minutes.

Or arriving 10 minutes late to a team meeting because we had another meeting scheduled.

Our daily lives involve delays in one way or another.

And regrettably, they have an impact on both the personal productivity of people and businesses.

Time wastage

losing money

Frustrations/conflicts

According to the same ABC News study that was mentioned earlier, in just the United States in 2007, tardiness cost employers $90 billion annually!

(Some crazy thing!)

Short version: Delays are a real issue, so it's critical to learn how to properly organise yourself in order to maximise productivity by being more on time.

Here is how to do it.

  1. Modify how you view delays
Let's be honest; I believe that being late shows a lack of respect for other people.

A lack of professionalism is also present.

Everyone loses time when someone is late for an appointment. And since time is the most valuable resource we have, that is unacceptable!

When you are ten minutes late to a meeting and everyone else has been waiting for you before the meeting even begins...

…The entire group just lost 10 minutes because of you!

Since there are several people gathered who are paid and who did nothing while waiting for you for 10 minutes, you have just cost your employer a certain amount of money.

Being late shows disrespect for other people as well as a lack of professionalism.

If, for instance, all of your coworkers made it to the meeting on time but you are the only one who consistently arrives late, something is wrong with you.

You don't have the professionalism or aptitude to manage your time well, in some way.

Could you picture a salesperson or service provider consistently being late for appointments with clients?

This would not only show disrespect for the customers, but it might also result in lost business or contracts.

Of course, there are times when exceptional delays are necessary and real emergencies can arise in a single day.

But regularly being late for work or a meeting without a good reason is disrespectful and unprofessional in my opinion, and it has no place!
