Isn't desire, which serves as the driving force behind everything that was created, an essential component of happiness, specifically happiness that is centred on well-being and high values?

Even if the goal of want is something that is not material, such as comfort, peace, or providing one's life with more purpose...

Desire can be viewed from two different perspectives. According to the great philosophers, in order to desire something, one must unquestionably "lack" it. However, if we simply focus on the lack, we are forgetting the other aspects of the situation.

While Plato and Schopenhauer discuss a desire that explains the sensation of being lacking, Spinoza discusses a desire that may be used as a practical instrument for experiencing joy.

Additionally, you must actively desire the item that you are lacking in order for the desire to be something that is completely positive. This is the component that is necessary for having a greater level of happiness.

When we begin to gravitate towards the object of our desire, this inner movement will bring about a sense of first fulfilment like a first step.

First, when we look at want through the lens of lack, we view it as an attraction, which is to say, a tendency that is fundamentally negative. However, now that we are getting out of this void of not holding the thing, let's go on to the next step.

For the reason that if, in the beginning, we experience feelings of attraction and temptation to focus on something that is not yet what the desire leads towards and on its illusory finality at this moment, then we would perceive it as a deficiency and as something that is negative.

In the second instant, which is richer and more complex, we focus on what is the driving force in desire, on what propels the desiring being to desire, and then we regard it as something positive. This is because the second moment is richer and more complex.

On the other hand, being attracted to something and having a tendency to gravitate towards it are not necessarily negative things. The act of "tending towards," if we exclude the concept of being lazy, involves the movement of our body itself, which is our ability to take action.

This putting into action as well as this capacity for attraction already enables us to strengthen ourselves by positively enhancing the ability via the goal of achieving what we desire. This is a way that we can strengthen ourselves.

want, in its other aspect different from that of attraction due to lack, becomes the starting point for taking action towards our happiness. This is because want is the source of attraction.
