How has our relationship with technology changed over time?

In point of fact, we do not make it a practice to accept a new technical advancement without first scrutinising it. The younger generation, which is able to digest new information more readily, is beginning to exert an impact that is beginning to set new standards, despite the fact that we are unable to immediately absorb the new.

On the other hand, the question of whether or not we are making a sacrifice in some manner by utilising the new technology is one that is constantly on our minds.

As an illustration, we are currently living in a time where we blame ourselves for being overly dependent on screens, but twenty years ago, the same debate was taking place with televisions.

Even before then, radio was a device that was criticised for the fact that it made children dependent on it when it was initially introduced to the market.

Despite the fact that we are still in the process of evaluating our connection with digital technologies, it has developed into a culture that is deeply embedded in our everyday lives.

We have reached a point of normalcy in which we spend the majority of our time on the phone, using various social media tools or playing video games on our computers. When faced with circumstances that we regard to be typical, it is frequently challenging to take action.

The reason for this is because everyone conducts their life in this manner, and because of this, it may not be feasible to experience discomfort.

On the other hand, do we not find that many events that we once thought to be typical now appear to be unacceptable to us here and now? As an illustration, it was once believed that competition between partners was what made marriages so interesting.

Fights in a healthy relationship are a severe problem that needs to be treated through couple therapy. This is a fact that cannot be denied at this point in time. As we allow marital disagreement to become more commonplace, we become less aware of the necessity of finding a solution to it.

In other words, the more we believe that an issue cannot be solved, the more we feel that we are unable to find a solution to it, and the more we normalise the problem, the more we reject that it exists.

At this moment, we are going through a situation in which we are looking for a safe haven in the normalisation of our relationship with digital technology. These days, we are drifting away from living a genuine life in which we are connected to our core principles.

It should come as no surprise that we will reap significant benefits if we are able to master the usage of digital technologies with our higher brain.

On the other hand, because we typically utilise these technologies to escape or get rid of our feelings, we tend to use them in a manner that is dominated by the mammalian and reptilian brains that we possess.
