The apprehension we have over the future hinders our ability to fully experience the present moment (Wayne Dyer).

When contemplating the future, we direct our focus towards it. Our predominant focus tends to be on negative aspects, so attracting more negative circumstances into our lives.

Experiencing worry causes a distortion of the current moment and instills uncertainty inside us. The majority of our problems are beyond our control. The status quo will remain unchanged regardless of the extent to which we fret.

It is uncommon for concerns to escalate to such a significant extent.

Excessive rumination results in anxiety, a state of apprehension towards the uncertain and forthcoming. Excessive stress and anxiety disorders stem from excessive concern, which has detrimental effects on both mental and physical well-being.

Maintaining constant vigilance is indicative of anxiety and should be limited to specific circumstances.

Perceiving life as inherently risky impedes our ability to unwind and derive pleasure from various experiences, hence progressively hurting our performance in everyday tasks. Presently, even minor tasks that require daily attention are perceived as issues or conflicts that necessitate resolution.

It is crucial to distinguish between the emotions of worry and the act of creating plans. Excessive concern about the future perpetuates its current state, whilst focusing on the present may contribute to improving the future. Distinguishing between them was unattainable.

It is imperative that we acknowledge the inevitability of doubt. Due to the inherent limitations of human knowledge, the process of progress is often accompanied by a sense of apprehension towards the unfamiliar, which has the potential to immobilise individuals.
Therefore, we must be accepting of uncertainty.

Alter your perspective. Concealing oneself behind negative thoughts and anxieties will not be beneficial. To go steadily, it is essential to concentrate on the current moment and develop the ability to control your thoughts.

Robin Sharma stated that the mind is a powerful entity that can be both dominant and very valuable when harnessed correctly. "Your fixation on pessimistic thoughts arises from a deficiency in mental cleanliness and inadequate allocation of time for developing the ability to focus on the positive."

Do not concern yourself with the future; focus on the current now.
