Learning "Mommy" (교실에서 안 알려주는 영어 #98)

안녕하세요. 겅호예요. 오늘은 미국 아가들은 엄마, 아빠, 할머니, 할아버지를 뭐라 부르는지 알아볼게요.

엄마는 mama 아빠는 dada 할머니는 nana 할아버지는 papa라고 부른답니다.
애기들은 혀 굴리는 r 사운드 발음을 못해 짧고 r이 들어가지 않는 단어를 사용합니다.

그리고 언어학적으로 보면 3개월~18개월 된 애기들은 밭침이 없는 단어(음절)를 쉽게 습득할 수 있고 똑 같은 음절을 반복하는 것이 더 쉽더라구요. 마마, 다다, 나나, 파파 기타 등등… 그리고 "이"로 끝나는 단어는 애기들한테 말하기 어렵답니다.

'마미'와 '대디'는 대게 3살때 쯤에 배워서 씁니다.

Mommy is mama.
Daddy is dada.
Grandma is nana.
Grandpa is papa.

Most babies can't pronounce "r" sounds very wel in the beginning, so they use words that don't have "r".

Also, linguistically speaking, babies aged 3 to 18 months can easily acquire words that have only one consonant and one vowel. They can repeat the same syllable;
mama, dada, nana, papa, etc… words that end in "ee" are difficult to say.

The words mommy and daddy are usually acquired at around the age of 3살.
